About Louisa Thomas
Hi, I’m Louisa Thomas, a movement teacher, myofascial release practitioner, and mum of three, based in Bardsey-cum-Rigton, West Yorkshire.
My journey with movement began in 2003 during a life-changing yoga class in India. I was captivated by the physical and mental challenges yoga presented, and completed my first teacher training in 2007 at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala, India.
My focus shifted to core rehabilitation after the birth of my first son in 2012, when I was diagnosed with ‘irreparable’ diastasis recti. Faced with the daunting prospect of surgery, I sought alternative solutions, eventually discovering the Restore Your Core® programme. After healing my diastasis-recti with RYC®, I became certified to teach RYC® in 2017 and later joined the RYC® team as Director of Education, training hundreds of RYC® teachers worldwide.
In 2018, I developed a deep interest in fascia and completed a diploma in myofascial release, a gentle, hands-on treatment to improve mobility and break down adhesions in the body. This transformative technique not only improved my own health but also inspired me to specialise in core and pelvic health. Combining this expertise with my movement training, I launched The Belly Reset in 2022 – a programme designed to rebalance the musculature of the abdomen through targeted exercises, nutrition and self myofascial release.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me supporting my children at their various sports events, pottering in my gorgeous garden, walking my goldendoodle, Lenny, or exploring the water on my paddleboard or canoe.
