Pregnancy Yoga in Wetherby

Connecting ⟡ Breathing ⟡ Sharing ⟡ Building Strength + More

Join us at this special time

There’s no better way to connect to your growing baby and your changing body than by moving, breathing and sharing space with other expectant parents.

Our pregnancy yoga classes are inclusive, nurturing and a hub of community for the pregnant community of Wetherby, Leeds and Harrogate. Whether you are new to yoga, anxious about your pregnancy, looking to meet other pregnant mums or simply want to stay strong and mobile during your pregnancy, our classes offer the perfect space to take some time for yourself, and for your baby.

Why Practice Yoga in Pregnancy.

Joining a pregnancy yoga class can bring profound benefits to both body and mind.

What to expect.

Sharing a safe space to move, breathe and relax with other expectant mums brings a real sense of community and connection as you navigate the highs and lows of pregnancy together. With a safe, non-judgmental space to ask questions, share experiences and build friendships, these classes provide the perfect sanctuary from the busyness of everyday life.

Each class begins with focused breath work to help quieten the mind and soothe the nervous system. As you breathe away stress and worries, you will learn how to use your breath as your constant support system, whether birthing your baby or resting in bed; lifting something heavy or taking a walk.

As we move through a series of flowing exercises, you will build  strength, improve mobility and ease away aches as your body adapts to the demands of pregnancy. With a focus on keeping your core, pelvic floor and spine strong and healthy, you will learn how to move in a safe and sustainable way, both on and off the mat.
Every class ends with a guided relaxation, giving your body and mind the chance to rest and digest the benefits of the class as you connect with, and prepare for the arrival of, your baby.

Questions you might have.

  • You can join the classes from the date of your first scan, right up to the day your baby arrives.

  • Absolutely not! The classes are suitable for all, including total beginners. You don’t need to be strong or bendy to join, and all instructions are given clearly in a way that is accessible for all.

  • We start each class with a breathing practice to help you to ‘arrive’ and settle. We then work through a flowing sequence of movements designed to build strength and mobilise your whole body. Every class ends with a guided relaxation, resting on the ground under a cosy blanket.

  • No, all equipment you will need is provided. The only thing you might want to bring is a bottle of water to sip during the class.

  • No, you can keep attending the classes right up to your birth date. We’ve had women in early labour breathing their way through the classes before, with their baby arriving just a few hours after they floated out of the yoga class.

  • Classes can be bought as individual classes, or as a pack of 6 or 10. A single class pack costs £15.50, or a pack of 6 is £60 and a pack of 10 £88. Once you have the pack, you can book as many classes as you want. If you are unable to get to a class one week, just don’t book yourself in and you can use the credit to join the following week. Any unused classes can be carried over and used for the Post-natal Pilates class once your baby has arrived.
